L4 Certificate in Senior Housing and Property Management

Who is this qualification for?


This accredited qualification is suitable for people who are currently working in a management position within a social or private housing organisation in England as well as those working in a housing role who are looking to progress into management. Typical job roles that may benefit from taking this qualification include but are not limited to:


Neighbourhood Housing  Manager

Neighbourhood Investment Manager

Property Manager

Voids and  Lettings Manager

Assets Manager

Income Manager

Resident Involvement  Manager

Supported Housing Manager

Leasehold Manager


What are the entry requirements?


You must be 18 years old or above to enrol for the qualification however there are no additional entry requirements. 


What will I learn?


There are 6 mandatory units in total for this qualification which include:


  1. Legislation and Regulation in the Housing and Property  Market  
  2. Policies and Procedures 
  3. Context of the Business in the Housing and Property  Market  
  4. Business Planning and Performance Monitoring
  5. Customer Service and Stakeholder Relationship  Management 
  6. Financial Management   


How long does it take to complete?


There is no minimum or maximum duration for completing this qualification although most learners complete within 6-12 months. 


How will I learn?


You will have access to an online suite of resources that take you through each unit. This provides the flexibility of self study but with the benefit of ongoing support from a dedicated tutor. We also have the option of attending live masterclasses which run each month. 


How am I assessed?


The first unit which covers legislation and regulation in the housing and property market is assessed via an online multiple choice exam. 


The remaining 5 units are assessed through a portfolio of work based evidence to demonstrate your professional competency, knowledge, and behaviours against specified criteria.

How will this qualification benefit me?


The objective of this qualification is to recognise learners’ achievements within the housing and property environment. It will develop your understanding of the needs of housing/property professionals within the private and social housing sectors. Achieving this qualification will enable you to demonstrate the competencies required to work at a management level in the housing and property management sector.

L5 Diploma in Executive Housing and Property Management

Who is this qualification for?


This accredited qualification is suitable for people who are currently working in a senior management position within a social or private housing organisation in England as well as those working in a housing role who are looking to progress into management. Typical job roles that may benefit from taking this qualification include but are not limited to:


Head of Service 

Director of Service

Head of Housing Services

Director of Operations 

Director of Housing Services 


What are the entry requirements?


You must be 18 years old or above to enrol for the qualification however there are no additional entry requirements. 


If you have previously completed the IAO level 4 certificate in senior housing and property management, you will not be required to complete the following modules as part of this qualification:


Legislation and Regulation in the Housing and Property Market  

Policies and Procedures  

Business Planning and Performance Monitoring 

Financial Management 



What will I learn?


There are 8 mandatory units in total for this qualification which include:


  1. Legislation and Regulation in the Housing and Property  Market  
  2. Policies and Procedures 
  3. Business Planning and Performance Monitoring
  4. Financial Management   
  5.  Strategic Leadership for Housing Managers
  6.  Customer and Resident Engagement 
  7.  Ethical Practice in Housing and Property Management 
  8.  Strategic Asset Management     


How long does it take to complete?

(If you have already completed the units in the IAO level 4 certificate in senior housing and property management, you can complete the 'Level 5 top up' option which will just include the four level 5 units )
